An exclusive Decca artist, Behzod AbduraimovЎЇs captivating performances are rapidly establishing him as one of the forerunners of his generation. Conductor collaborations include appearances with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Krzysztof UrbaЁЅski, Vasily Petrenko, Charles Dutoit, Vladimir Jurowski, David Zinman, Andrey Boreyko and Pinchas Zukerman.
In spring 2014 Abduraimov makes his debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Lorin Maazel, which will be followed by a high profile tour of China. Elsewhere in North America he will return to the Kansas City Symphony and the Vancouver Recital Series and he makes his debut appearances at the Princeton University Series and Phillips Collection in Washington DC. He has recently worked with the Indianapolis and Atlanta Symphony Orchestras and NAC Orchestra Ottawa (as part of their Russian Festival) and appeared at the Ravinia Festival.
In Europe, Behzod Abduraimov will be Artist in Residence with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra (under Marc Albrecht) and will also be working with orchestras such as the Czech Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic and the Real FilharmonЁЄa de Galicia under Paul Daniel. Following his triumphant debut at the Wigmore Hall in London, Abduraimov will be making regular appearances there over the coming seasons. He will also return to MilanЎЇs La SocietЁ¤ dei Concerti where he will open their season, and he will make his debut at the Louvre in Paris in addition to a number of recitals in Italy and Spain.
Further afield, Behzod Abduraimov will be returning to Japan for his debut with the NHK Symphony Orchestra having made his Japanese debut in 2012 with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Following his highly successful tour of Australia he returns there in 2014.
Recent engagements have included La Roque dЎЇAnthЁ¦ron, Le Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, Bozar (Brussels), the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Tivoli Concert Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne (under the auspices of the Orpheum Foundation) and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo.
Behzod Abduraimov released his debut recital CD on Decca Classics in 2012, which won both the Choc de Classica and the Diapason DЁ¦couverte. This season he will release his first concerto disc with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI under Juraj Valcuha.
At the age of eighteen, Abduraimov achieved a sensational victory at the 2009 London International Piano Competition, winning 1st prize with his thrilling performance of ProkofievЎЇs Third Piano Concerto.
Behzod Abduraimov was born in Tashkent in 1990 and began to play the piano at the age of five.
