From 2007 to 2009, Fomin was the technical director of the Antresol Actors Club, a branch of the Satire Theatre on Vasilyevsky. From 2008 to 2014, Fomin was a Light Designer at the Hand Made Saint Petersburg Plastic Hands Theatre. Since 2014, he has been a Light Designer with the Nikolay Akimov Saint Petersburg Comedy Theatre. Since 2015, Fomin has been a Light Designer at the performance hall of the Saint Petersburg Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art. From 2009 to 2011, Fomin underwent light design training at the Hellerau European Centre for the Arts in Dresden, Germany.
Since 2007, Fomin has collaborated with the AKHE Engineering Theatre. Since 2008, Fomin has worked with DEREVO Theatre on such productions as Dia Gnose, Drop in the Ocean, Mephisto Waltz, Harlequin, and Last Clown on Earth.
