Stanislav Chigadaev was born in Budapest in 1991. He began to study music at the age of five at the Sviridov School of Arts in St Petersburg (class of Marina Khvan). Graduated from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov School of Music (class of Oleg Weinstein) and the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Tatiana Zagorovskaya). He is currently a post-graduate student at the conservatory.
In 2009 he was a diploma-recipient at the International Maria Yudina Competition in St Petersburg. Prize-winner at the International Sergei Rachmaninoff Music Competition and Festival (2005) and the International Georgy Sviridov Music Competitition and Festival for Young Performers in St Petersburg (2008), the International Bedřich Smetana Piano Competition in Pilsen (Czech Republic, 2010), the International Piano Competition in Stockholm (2012) and the Jazz Competition Autumn Marathon.
Has collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, Nigel Kennedy, Vasily Gerello, Alena Petrovskaya, Alim Shakhmametiev, Larisa Dolina, Fabio Masrangelo, Igor Ponomarenko and Alexei Vasiliev.
Leader of the Good Evening jazz trio, which also includes Grigory Voskoboinik (double-bass) and Pyotr Mikheyev (percussion). Appears with the ensemble at the Mariinsky Theatre, the White Hall of the Polytechnical University and the Russian Museum among other venues in St Petersburg. Performs duos with the vibraphone-player Pavel Chizhik.
In 2011 and 2013 he took part in master-classes at the School of Jazz in New York and the New Venice School as well as the international Veneto Jazz festival. In 2017 he trained at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland). In 2018 he took part in the international festival Jazz Manor in Moscow.
