Valentin Lyashchenko graduated from the Moscow Military School of Music (clarinet class) and the Moscow Military Conservatoire. He studied conducting under Vladimir Ivanov and trained with the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base under Alexei Karabanov.
Captain, 3rd rank (2014). Lyashchenko was Artistic Director and Conductor of the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base from 2008 to 2011. He was appointed Bandmaster in 2011 and Head of the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base, the oldest naval wind band in Russia, in 2014. Lyashchenko has taken part in various international festivals, performed throughout Russia and in other countries. He has received the St Petersburg Youth Prize for Art Work, the Silver Medal of the Supreme Apostle St Peter (1st class) and has been awarded the St Petersburg Government’s Prize for Culture and Art.
