Born in Karaganda (Kazakhstan). Graduated from St Petersburg Valentin Serovґs Fine Arts School at 1979. In 1979-1983 – assistant of stage designer at Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre in Minsk (Byelorussia): Nutcracker, Spartakus, Flower Festival in Genzano. Since 1983 stage designer at the Mariinsky Theatre. Took part in staging of The Quenne of Spades, Giselle, Boris Godunov, Le Corsaire, Don Carlos, Parsifal, Nutcracker (set, costume and production design by M. Chemiakin). In 1998 reconstructed stage design by Andrei Roller for the Verdiґs opera La Forza del Destino. In 1999 reconstructed stage designe for the Tchaikovskyґs ballet The Sleeping Beauty. In addition worked as a book designer.
