Set Designer

Lives and works in Lyon. Trained as an architect. Has designed sets for cinema, dramatic theatre and opera since 1975.
Has worked with cinema directors such as Renaud Victor, Jean Louis Godard and Marguerite Duras. As a theatre designer, has worked with directors including Bruno Boeglin and Christophe Perton. Works with the Theatre de la Ville Paris, the Avignon Festival and the Autumn Festival in Paris. Has been involved in many opera productions since 1994, working with such directors as Alitta Boldi, Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser.

He has designed productions of Armide, Berg?s Wozzeck, Thomas? Hamlet, La clemence de Titus, Carmen, Leonore, Fidelio, Die Fledermaus, Betrothal in a Monastery, Orphee, La cenerentola, Der Ring des Nibelungen, Der Rosenkavalier, Lucia di Lammermoor and The Nose.

Christian Fenouillat also designs art exhibitions. He is currently preparing an exhibition with Juliette Binoche on fine arts and cinema.
