Born in Moscow.
Studied at Ballettschule der Osterreichischen Bundestheater, and completed his education at Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of Professor Veniamin Zimin).
Joined Mariinsky Theatre in 1993.
Became Principal Character Artist in 1998.
