Born in Leningrad. Graduated from the St Petersburg State University Faculty of Languages. Entered the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 1988, and continued her studies at the Paris Conservatoire (class of Professor Jeanne Berbie). She spent three years as a post-graduate student at the Studio Bastille (Opera Bastille, Paris).
In France, she has sung at the Opera Comique, the Grand Opera, the Opera-Theatre de Metz, the Opera de Strasbourg and the Opera National de Nancy. Her roles there included Mimi (La boheme), Madame Lidoine (Les dialogues des Carmelites), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Tatiana (Eugene Onegin).
Made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2003 as Giorgetta (Il tabarro).
