Musical Preparation

Honoured Artist of Russia (2002).
Was awarded a diploma at the International Tchaikovsky Competition (1986).

Graduated from the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire with distinction in 1977. In 1980, became a leader of the Mariinsky Opera Company. Was responsible for the musical preparation of operas including The Queen of Spades, Eugene Onegin, Sadko, Ruslan and Lyudmila, Prince Igor, War and Peace, Love for Three Oranges, Boris Godunov, Semyon Kotko and Katerina Ismailova.

Has frequently toured with the Mariinsky Theatre to Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Israel and the USA. Is actively involved in concerts, performing with Mariinsky Theatre soloists.
Has been involved in CD recordings of Russian operas including Boris Godunov, Mazepa, Semyon Kotko, Prince Igor and War and Peace for Philips Classics.
