Soprano Prize-winner at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers? Competition (St Petersburg, 1994, Hope diploma and 1996, Grand-prix), the International Glinka Vocalists? Competition (Ufa, 1995, 1st prize), the I International Irina Arkhipova Television Young Opera Singers? Competition, which was devoted to the 850th anniversary since the founding of Moscow (Moscow, 1997, Grand-prix).
Born in Leningrad. Graduated from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Gagen, 1998).
Made her Mariinsky Theatre debut on 5 April 1994 as Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro). Mariinsky Theatre soloist since 1994.

Xenia (Boris Godunov),
Snow Maiden (The Snow Maiden),
Sirin (The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia),

the Nightingale (The Nightingale),
Luisa (Betrothal in a Monastery),
Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor),
Oscar (Un ballo in maschera),
the Heavenly Voice (Don Carlo),
Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro)
and Klingsor?s Flower Maiden (Parsifal).
Has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to Finland, Germany, Israel, the USA, Belgium, Japan, France, Slovenia, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK and Austria. Has performed at the Opera Bastille and the Theatre du Chatelet (France) and the Metropolitan Opera and the Lincoln Center (USA).
In 1998, made her Salzburg Festival debut (Klingsor?s Flower Maiden, Parsifal).
In 1999, made her Metropolitan Opera debut (Prilepa, The Queen of Spades). Has made a CD recording of Stravinsky?s The Nightingale with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Robert Kraft.
Took part in Tony Palmer?s film version of Parsifal (with Plecido Domingo as Parsifal, Violetta Urmana as Kundry, Matti Salminen as Gurnemanz and Nikolai Putilin as Klingsor).
