Born in Moscow (Russia), soprano Yana Ivanilova holds a PhD in Vocal Art from the Moscow State Conservatory in the class of Prof. Nina Dorliak-Richter, as well as a MA in Vocal Art with honours from the Gnessins' Russian Music Academy. She has also studied at Vienna attending Prof. Ingeborg Wamser's and Prof. Peter Berne's masterclasses. Now she is taking classes at Mari Devalue (Montreal, Quebec). She has recorded diverse solo programs for radio stations, toured with the leading companies throughout Europe, worked on a variety of CD recordings, and appeared as a leading soprano in numerous opera performances. An avid concert and recital artist, Yana Ivanilova shows exceptional dedication to the genre of opera. As the soloist of the Moscow New Opera Municipal Theatre she performed leading soprano roles in a variety of operas, among them Donizetti's Maria Stuart, Verdi's I Due Foscari, Tschaikovsky's Eugen Onegin and many others. She has worked with such famous conductors as Kent Nogano, Rene Klmencic, Vladimir Fedoseev, Richard Boning, Stuard Bedford, Mikhail Pletniov, Tatiana Grindenko, Evgeni Svetlanov, Sergey Stadler, Pavel Kogan, Alexander Vedernikov, Vladimir Spivakov and others. Yana Ivanilova is the Second Prize winner at the International Competition of Schnaider-Trnavsky in Trnava, Slovakia. She also appeared as Violetta in Verdi's Traviata as the winner of a special prize in Kositsa (January 1999).
