Boris Tevlin

Вoris Tevlin graduated with a first-class honors degree from the Moscow Conservatoire in 1957 acquiring two professions: choir conductor (prof. V. Mukhin class) and organist (prof. A. Gedike class). He completed his postgraduate course in 1962 (under prof. A. Sveshnikov). Since 1959 B. Tevlin has been teaching at the Moscow Conservatoire. A famous choir conductor and professor Boris Tevlin was rewarded many honorable titles: People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Holder of the Medal of Honor, Prince Daniil Moskovsky’s Order of the Russian Orthodox Church, 1st degree Order of Peter the Great. Boris Tevlin is a honorary citizen of Sochi (1966) and Saratov (2006) and laureate of prestigious prizes.

In 1995 Boris Tevlin founded the Moscow Conservatoire Chamber Choir. Since 2005 he is musical director of the Autumn Choral Festival at the Moscow State Conservatoire. Boris Tevlin leads master-classes in Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Israel, China, USA, France, former Yugoslavia. He is chairman of the All-Russia choir competitions “Singing Russia”, “Moscow Sounds”; heis international choral contests jury member, including the World Choral Olympic Games in Seoul (Korea, 2002), Bremen (Germany, 2004).
