Nataliya Tymchenko

Soprano
Ukrainian born soprano Nataliya Tymchenko appeared regularly over several years on the stage of the world-renowned Mariinsky Theater in Saint Petersburg, Russia, singing regularly under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Valery Gergiev.
 
Her repertoire encompasses a wide and versatile arrange of many of the most demanding staples of the lyric and spinto repertoires, including roles such as Leonora in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino, Amelia in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, Cio-Cio-San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Liu in Puccini’s Turandot, Nedda in Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci, Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Tatjana in Tchaikovsky’s Evgenij Onegin, Lisa in Tchaikovsky’s Queen of Spades, Emma in Mussorgsky’s Khovanschina, Polina in Prokofiev’s The Gamblers, Zemfira in Rachmaninov’s Aleko, Militrisa in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tale of the Tsar Saltan and Kupava in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Snegurochka.
 
Ms. Tymchenko has appeared as a guest in many of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Opéra de Paris, Washington’s Kenney Center, New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, London’s Barbican Hall, Vienna’s Theater an der Wien, Opéra de Marseille, the NHK Hall in Tokyo, the Moscow Philharmonic and the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus.
 
Equally at home on the concert stage, she has appeared on numerous concerts, often times opposite world-renowned dramatic tenor Vladimir Galouzine.
 
A recipient of numerous awards at international competitions such as the Elena Obrastzova International Vocal Competition, the International Lisenko Vocal Competition in Kiev, and the Rimsky Korsakov International Vocal Competition in St. Petersburg, Ms. Tymchenko is a graduate of the National Conservatory of Bulgaria and the Mariinsky Theater’s Young Singers’ Academy. She has studied under the guidance of Konstanza Vachkova since 2002 and, as of late, of celebrated soprano Virginia Zeani.

Prize-winner at the Operalia International Young Opera Singers` Competition, founded by Placido Domingo (Paris, 2002),
as well as the International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition (St Petersburg, 2002)
and at the International Elena Obraztsova Competition (St Petersburg, 2005).

Prize-winner at the International Ghena Dimitrova Competition (Bulgaria, 2000).
Prize-winner at the International Lysenko Competition (Kiev, 2002).
Prize-winner at the All-Russian Nadezhda Obukhova Young Vocalists? Festival and Competition (Lipetsk, 2005).

Trained at the Kiev Conservatoire and subsequently at the Sofia National Academy of Music (class of Professor Konstanza Vatchkova), which she graduated from in 2002. In the 2002-2003 season she appeared at the Kharkov Theatre of Opera and Ballet where she performed as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin).

Soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers since 2003. Made her Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2004 as Donna Elvira in Mozart?s Don Giovanni.

In 2002 she made her debut at the Sofia Opera House as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni).
In 2004 and 2005 she took part in master classes given by Vladimir Atlantov, Maria Cleva, Konstantin Pluzhnikov, Grayr Khanedanian and Larisa Gergieva at the Summer Academy in Mikkeli (Finland).

Takes part in gala concerts with Academy soloists and Mariinsky Opera Company soloists. She has made recordings with Bulgarian National Television (Sofia, 2001). Gave a recital at the Teatro Liceu (Barcelona, 2005).
Made her debut at the Vladikavkaz Theatre of Opera and Ballet in 2005 as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), and performed the same role at the Vologda Philharmonic in summer 2006. Has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to Cyprus (2006), performing as Amelia (Un ballo in maschera).
