Music lovers and critics alike are unanimous in their opinion that Alexander Ghindin is one of the worldЎЇs most talented and original young pianists. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatoire in 1994 (class of Mikhail Voskresensky) and was a prize-winner at the §· International Tchaikovsky Competition. For many years Alexander Ghindin received a grant from the New Names International Charity Programme.
While still a student the pianist frequently performed on tour in Russia and abroad. He has given concerts in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Croatia, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, Norway and Japan. Alexander Ghindin has performed with the greatest Russian and world orchestras. These include the Great Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the New Russia orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi and the St Petersburg Camerata, as well as foreign ensembles such as the London Philharmonia Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the German Symphony Orchestra in Berlin and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Helsinki, Luxemburg, LiЁЁge, Freiburg, Monte Carlo and Munich.
Conductors Alexander Ghindin has worked with in recent seasons include Yuri Simonov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Dmitry Kitaenko, Mark Gorenstein, Vladimir Ziva, Saulius Sondeckis, Leonard Slatkin, David Shallon, Louis LangrЁ¦e and Tommaso Placidi among others.
Alexander Ghindin is a regular guest at international music festivals in Russia (Talents of Russia, Russian Winter, Stars at the Kremlin, A New Century of Russian Piano Music, the Andrei Sakharov Festival and The Musical Kremlin) and abroad (the Swedish Royal Festival in Stockholm, the Robert Casadesus Festival in Lille, the Vladimir Spivakov Festival in Colmar, the La Roque dЎЇAnthЁ¦ron Festival, the Chopin Festival in France, the Rising Stars festival in Poland and the Days of Russian Culture in Moravia festival in the Czech Republic).
In recent years, the musician has recorded fifteen discs featuring works by Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Liszt, Ravel, Schubert-Liszt, Schnittke and Gubaidulina, produced together with Decca (Great Britain), Capriccio (Germany), Ondine (Finland), Tri-M Classics (Japan) and Saison Russe.
