Graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (opera and symphony conducting, class of Professor Musin and M. G. Kukushkin).
Artistic Director and Conductor of the Baltika youth chamber orchestra since 1999. Composer, author of two string quartets, a piano concerto, a piano sonata, a flute and piano sonata and romances among other works.

With the Mariinsky Theatre since 2000; over five seasons he has conducted such productions as Eugene Onegin, The Nutcracker, The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia, Boris Godunov, The Demon, The Enchantress, The Nose and The Gamblers.
