International Competition prize-winner (Byelorussia, 1999).

Born in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Graduated from the Moscow State Gnesins Academy in 1991 (class of Professor Eizen). Trained in Italy in 1989 under Professor Mariotti. From 1990-92, participated in concerts and festivals as part of the New Names programme.

Soloist with the St Petersburg Chamber Opera Company from 1994. Since 1997, he has worked with the St Petersburg Chamber Chorus, directed by Nikolai Kornev. His large repertoire includes oratorios by Bach, Handel and Donizetti. Sang in the Russian premieres of Donizetti‘s Messa di Requiem and Handel‘s oratorio The Passion of Christ.

In 1999, was invited by the Mariinsky Theatre to perform Don Giovanni in the opera of the same name (Musical Director: Valery Gergiev; Stage Director: Johannes Schaaf).

Mariinsky Theatre soloist since 2000.

Repertoire includes: Ruprecht (The Fiery Angel), Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Flemish Deputies (Don Carlo), Marcello (La boheme), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Ser Amantio di Nicolao (Gianni Schicchi).

Has given solo recitals in Moscow, Paris, Vienna, Finland, the USA, Denmark, Sweden and Italy.

Has toured with the Mariinsky Theatre to Germany (Baden-Baden), Japan and Australia.
