Vladimir CHERNOV was born in Krasnodar. Graduated from Moscow conservatoire. Laureate of the different international competitions. His main debuts had place at stages of Mariinsky Theater (1981) and Boston Opera House (USA, 1989). Performed at leading theaters and concert halls; there are Carnegie Hall, Arena di Verona, Covent Garden, Lyric Opera (Chicago), Deutsche Opera (Berlin), Metropolitan Opera, Opera Bastille (Paris), La Scala (Milan) among them. Toured over Japan, participated in Jubilee concert for Metropolitan Opera 25th anniversary. Collaborated with P.Domingo, M.Freni, L.Pavarotti, conductors G.Levine, L.Maazel, V.Gergiev, S.Ozawa, Z.Metha, Sir G.Sholti.His repertoire included first baritone parts in "Luisa Miller", "Rigoletto", "La Traviata", "Il Trovatore", "Simon Boccanegra", "Un Ballo in maschera", "La Forza del destino", "Falstaff" of Verdi, Rossini‘s "Le Barbiere di Siviglia", Tchaikovsky‘s "Queen of spades" etc. Has records at "Sony", "Philips classics" "Deutsche Grammophon".
