Born in Kishenev. Graduated from St. Petersburg Conservatoire (class of Prof. S.R. Riazantsev) in 1991. In 1991-94 was a soloist of Conservatoire Musical Theatre where his repertoire included Eugene Onegin (Eugene Onegin), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas).
Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in 1994 and made his debut as Dandini (La Cenerentola).

His repertoire includes: Dandini (La Cenerentola), Il Conte di Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Pantaloon (The Love for the Three Oranges), Le Dancaire (Carmern), Metivier / General Belliard (War and Peace), Schaunard (La Boheme), Marquis d‘Obigny (La traviata).

Has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to Finland, China, the UK (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), Germany, Italy (La Scala) and the USA (Metropolitan Opera).
