Dinara AlievaSopranoWas born in Baku (Azerbaijan). She studied piano at music school. In 1998 she entered and in 2004 graduated from the Music Academy in Baku. Dinara has been awarded at the international competitions Bulbul, (Baku, 2005, III prize), Galina Vishnevskaya (Moscow, 2006, a diploma), Maria Callas (Athens, 2007, II prize), Elena Obraztsova (St. Petersburg, 2007, II prize). Having performed at Bulbul contest Dinara was awarded with an honorary medal of Irina Arkhipova Foundation. Irina Arkhipova was also a chairperson of the contest. Following her appearance at the VIII International Festival “Christmas musical meetings in Palmira of the North” (2007) Dinara was awarded a special prize “Triumphal Debut” given to her by the Artistic Director of the festival, Maestro Yuri Temirkanov. Dinara Alieva took part at master-classes of Montserrat Caballe and Elena Obraztsova. She is currently improving her skills under the guidance of Professor S. Nesterenko. Since 2004 Dinara Alieva has been a soloist of The Baku Opera and Ballet Theatre where she appeared at many opera productions as Leonora (Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”), Mimi (Puccini’s “La Boheme”), Violetta (Verdi’s “La Traviata”), Nedda (Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci”). Since 2007 Dinara Alieva has been a member of the Unity of Concert Workers of St. Petersburg. Working at the opera theatre in Baku, Dinara also leads an active concert life at stages of major opera theatres and concert halls in Russia and abroad. Various concert programs as well as performances with orchestras have been presented in Baku and several Russian cities such as Irkutsk, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg and others. Dinara Alieva often takes part in concert programs presented at Russia-Azerbaijan governmental summits such as the one held in December 2004 in the Kremlin Palace and dedicated to the culture of Azerbaijan. Recitals of Dinara Alieva were held at the best philharmonic venues of Moscow such as the Great and Rachmaninov halls of the Moscow Conservatoire, Chamber and Svetalnov halls of the Moscow International Performing Arts Centre. Taking part in numerous opera galas Dinara regularly presents her versatile repertoire on major philharmonic stages of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Dinara performed the soprano part in Verdi’s Requiem at the Yaroslavl philharmonic hall together with UNESCO World Choir, Viktor Popov’s Choir Academy and Yaroslavl Symphony Orchestra conducted by Murad Annamamedov (March, 2007). As an opera soloist Dinara Alieva performed at the opera productions of Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg singing Violetta (Verdi’s “La Traviata”, 2008), the same part at Baku Opera Theatre in 2008, Stuttgart Opera Theatre (Micaela, Bizet’s “Carmen”, 2007). The singer appeared in the concert performance singing Violetta at Thessaloniki Concert Hall at the memorial concert dedicated to Maria Callas (30th anniversary of death). The concert united the best musicians of Greece and guest starts from other European countries. Dinara also took part at Elena Obraztova jubilee gala at the Bolshoi Theatre (2008). Dinara Alieva regularly collaborates with the leading Russian conductors and symphony orchestras such as Vladimir Fedoseyev and The Large Symphony Orchestra, Vladimir Spivakov’s “Moscow Virtuosi”, Vladimir Gorenshtein and The State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Yuri Temirkanov and The Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Nikolai Kornev and St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra. For many years she has been working with pianist Denis Matsuev appearing with him in Moscow, Baku, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Paris and performing both classics and jazz. Dinara regularly takes part in international music festivals “Crescendo” (artistic director Denis Matsuev), “Christmas musical meetings in Palmira of the North” and “Arts Square” (artistic director Yuri Temirkanov), “Musical Olympus” (artistic director Irina Nikitina). Dinara successfully toured in Europe and the USA. Among the most important appearances are Italian tour with St. Petersburg Philharmonic led by Yuri Temirkanov, participations in “Crescendo” festival gala concert at Gaveau Hall in Paris (2007) and in “Musical Olympus” festival at Carnegie Hall in New York. An outstanding gift and brilliant mastery of the singer, her bright artistry and winning charm, amazingly strong voice able to captivate the audience by unprecedented richness of its timbre and beauty of its tone – all these rightfully characterizes Dinara Alieva as one of the rare phenomenon in the opera art. She is swiftly and steadily winning leading positions both in her homeland and on world’s opera stages.
