Prizewinner of the Musorgsky Vocal Competition (1989).
Born in Salavat, Bashkiria. Graduated from the State Musorgsky Conservatory, Sverdlovsk in 1989 (class of Prof. L. E. Krasnopolskaya) and joined the State Mussorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre of St Petersburg. Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in 1995 and made her debut as Katerina Ismailova (Katerina Ismailova).
Her repertoire includes: Maria (Mazepppa), Lisa (The Queen of Spades), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Iolanthe (Iolanthe), Yaroslavna (Prince Igor), Mimi (La boheme), Elisabeth (Don Carlo), Aida (Aida), Pauline (The Gambler), Katerina Ismailova (Katerina Ismailova), Gorislava (Ruslan and Lyudmila), Cio-Cio-san (Madama Butterfly), Peronskaya (War and Peace), Lyubka (Semyon Kotko). Has toured with the Mussorgsky Opera Company in France (Opera de Bastille), Japan, Holland, Portugal, Italy with the opera company of the Maly Opera and Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg. Toured with the Mariinsky Theatre to Germany, Portugal, France, Italy, Israel, Finland, Japan and the United States.
Recordings: Participated in the Kirov audio/video recording of Mazeppa (production of Philips Classics, NHK and EuroArts).
