Sergei Slovachevsky graduated and postgraduated as cellist from the Petersburg conservatoire (by the guiding of professor A.P.Nikitin), improved skill under N.Gutman‘s leadership. The winner of the All-Russia cellist‘s competition named after K.Davydov (I premium, Russia, 1988), All-Union competition (I premium, 1988), the International competition of chamber music named after Viotti (I premium, Italy, 1991), competition of Bavarian radio ARD (the Special premium). Sergei Slovachevsky actively goes on tour in Russia and abroad: in Italy, France, Finland, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Turkey, Japan. The cellist cooperates with many orchestras under the baton of well-known conductors, such as Y.Temirkanov, M.Jansons, M.Shostakovich, N.Alekseev, S.Sondetskis, S.Zanderling, P.Stejnberg... Takes part in the International festivals - in Italy, Germany, Finland, Japan, Latvia and Byelorussia. Performs in ensemble with Petersburg pianist Igor Uryash, with which he has recorded cello sonatas of Beethoven and Debussy.
