Andres Mustonen - the recognized expert in the field of music of the Middle Ages and a baroque, the founder and the head of known Ensemble HORTUS MUSICUS (1972). The Art director of annual Tallinn festival of music of a baroque. Has ended the Estonian state conservatory (nowadays the Estonian musical academy, 1977) on a class of a violin, trained in Austria and the Netherlands.
In student‘s years has organized ensemble of ancient music - the collective first in the was USSR playing on authentic tools. It has begun tradition of concerts of ancient music in Estonia, and itself Mustonen became the active propagandist authentic mastery in our country and the countries of Northern Europe.
With ensemble Hortus Musicus of A.Mustonen executes not only music before Bach‘s epoch, but also composers-avant-gardists. It has carried out world premiere of many compositions Piart, Kanchely, ..., Tanever and other composers.
