Khatia Buniatishvili was born in 1987 in Tbilisi. After graduation from the Tbilisi Central Music School she entered the Tbilisi State Conservatory in 2004. She studies under Professor Tengiz Amiredjibi. Since the age of 6 she began to play recitals and perform with orchestras. After 1999 she started to perform abroad, playing concerts in Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France. Among her various performances should be noted charity concerts in Austria («Sosk-kinderdorf», 1999) and France (at the Theatre du Champs Elysees, 2001), invitations to the Verbier International Festival (2003, 2004) and the concert tour in Geneva, Zurich, Nantes and Brussels (2005). The same year she had a concert in Paris at the festival «Les Nouveaux Solistes aux Serres d?Audeuil 2005». Khatia Buniatishvili is a prize-winner of several international piano competitions. At the Horowitz International Piano Competition she was awarded the special prize (2003). She won the concert series «Piano Thursdays» in Geneva (2003), the R. Rozhok and E. Gurevich International Piano Competition (2004), received the Second prize together with the Special Prize for Artistry at the III Tbilisi International Piano Competition (2005). In 2003 Khatia Buniatishvili was granted the Elizabeth Leonskaya scholarship. The same year she was invited to take part in the Francois-Rene Duchables master-classes in Paris. Khatia has already released 3 CDs.
