Galya Solodovnikova

• Best Artist Breakthrough Award recipient for the creation of stage design and costumes for The Earth (Alexandrinsky Theatre, directed by Maxim Didenko) (2016)

In 2003, Galya Solodovnikova graduated from the Kosygin Moscow State Textile University, specialising in Artistic Costume Design. In 2005, she obtained Master’s Degree in Stage Design at Central Saint Martins. In 2001, Solodovnikova co-founded and developed the ALOE clothing brand.
From 2005 to 2007, Solodovnikova was the artistic director of the Future Cinema Company (London). In 2006, she was a guest lector of the Instituto Europeo di Design in São Paulo, Brazil. From 2007, Solodovnikova has been teaching at the British Higher School of Design (Moscow). In 2011, Solodovnikova founded the theatre lab Three Play Suzdal.

Her production The Full Moon took home the award in the category “Experiment” (2013). Solodovnikova’s projects were presented at the Vilnius and Bilbao festivals, at the London Film Festival (2005), the 1st Moscow Biennale, the Edinburgh Festival (2006), Net Festival (Moscow, 2005), ROZAMIRA (Moscow, 2007), Texture (2010), and Territory Festivals (Sochi-Kazan 2011, Moscow 2012).
