Born in Vologda. Graduated from the stage faculty of the Leningrad State Cherkasov Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema in 1993, specialising in costume design (department of stage technology). Joined the Mariinsky Theatre as a costume technician in 1991. Designed the costumes for productions of Don Carlos (Assistant Designer), Katerina Ismailova, The Gambler, War and Peace (co-production by the Mariinsky Theatre and the Metropolitan Opera, New York), Boris Godunov (Mariinsky Theatre production premiered in May 2002 at La Scala, Milan), Richard Wagner?s tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen , The Enchantress (Mariinsky Theatre production with the Teatro National de Sao Carlos, Lisbon) and The Snow Maiden.
Has also designed the costumes for twenty-eight productions for drama theatres and opera houses, including Anouilh?s Generals in Skirts (Comedy Theatre, St Petersburg), Gorin?s Memorial Prayer (Pushkin Drama Theatre, Krasnoyarsk), Shukshin?s Before the Cocks Crow Thrice (Drama Theatre, Orienburg), Gorin?s Kin IV, A Plague on Both Your Houses and Royal Games (Norilsk Mayakovsky Arctic Drama Theatre) and Anouilh?s Antigone (Tovstonogov Great Drama Theatre, St Petersburg).
